Quick Entry
One per line, or separated by commas0 entries

Names are securely shuffled into near-equal teams. Together/apart restrictions are enforced when supplied; constrained assignments are not uniformly sampled from all valid arrangements.

Team names, colors & restrictions Optional

Only used with “Balance Skill Ratings”. Unlisted people default to 1. This is an estimate-based heuristic, not a guarantee of equally skilled teams.

One pair per line. Restrictions must fit near-equal team sizes. If they conflict or the search limit is reached, no teams are returned.

Avatars, emojis & colors Optional

Pictures stay local. PNG, JPEG or WebP, up to 250 KB each. Large setups can be shared as files.

Your draft is kept in this browser. Changing decision inputs starts fresh progress. Changing the mini-game preserves your result.

How to use the random team generator

Form workshop groups, practice teams, or classroom project groups.

  1. Enter one name or option per line. Review your list and any task or team settings.
  2. Choose a rule and read its explanation before playing.
  3. Choose Quick Play for an immediate result, or a game to reveal it. Save a reusable setup if needed.

Frequently asked questions

Are skill-balanced teams guaranteed to be equal?

No. Skill balancing uses a heuristic and your ratings. Team sizes differ by at most one. Conflicting restrictions or a search limit produce an explanation instead of silently ignoring them.

Does the game change the odds?

No. The engine determines the outcome separately. Spinning, dragging, flipping, and racing reveal it. Replay preserves the result.

How large can my list be?

Up to 200 unique entries of 80 characters each. Duplicate labels merge ignoring letter case; give different people distinct labels. Some game visuals show a sample, while full results include every relevant entry.

How do I keep or share a setup?

Save it in this browser or export a file. Links contain readable data and should not include sensitive information. Read the privacy policy before sharing.
